Enrolling in Benefits
If you’re a new employee, you are eligible for most benefits as of your date of hire. You have 30 days from your date of hire to complete your initial enrollment.
Eligible Dependents
When you enroll yourself in medical, dental, and/or vision coverage, you may also cover your eligible dependents, including:
- Your legal spouse or qualified domestic partner
- Children under the age of 26, regardless of student, dependency or marital status
- Children who are past the age of 26 and are fully dependent on you for support due to a mental or physical disability and who are indicated as such on your federal tax return
Making Changes After Open Enrollment
Existing employees can enroll during the annual open enrollment period. If you miss the enrollment deadline, you’ll need to wait until the next open enrollment period, unless you experience a Qualified Life Event.
Common Qualified Life Events Include
- Change in legal marital status
- Change in number of dependents or dependent eligibility status
- Change in employment status that affects eligibility for you, your spouse, or dependent child(ren)
- Change in residence that affects access to network providers
- Change in your health coverage or your spouse’s coverage due to your spouse’s employment
- Change in your or a dependent’s eligibility for Medicare or Medicaid
